Making Rolls and Dying Eggs

Random post I know.. But this weekend I made rolls for the first time. I have made bread millions of times but I have never made rolls. I was super nervous that I kneaded them too long and it would turn out like bread rolls. BUT they turned out delicious. I used the lion house roll recipe my friend posted on her food blog. It was easy and so yummy! Here is me in during the process of making them. I don't have a final picture because we were so busy eating them right after I took them out of the oven.
Next time I will make the rolls a little bigger.

My sister Alisha was in town for Easter and I wanted her to have a good Easter. So I made a nice easter dinner and we dyed eggs. I think I was really the only one who was super excited to dye eggs. Here are the pretty eggs were made!!
*Afterwards I made deviled eggs with them*

Crusin' along the beach

One of our favorite things to do is ride our bikes along the beach. It is so relaxing and fun. We ride to a little Italian bistro, eat lunch and ride home. I call it my perfect Saturday!

712 Miles

On Monday I drove to Charlotte North Carolina for a nursing workshop. It was to prepare me for my upcoming clinical weekend test so I do not fail again. I booked it only one week before and flights were so expensive so I had to drive. It was 712 MILES. I have never driven that far before, especially by myself. I was scared and nervous. Bryan being an awesome husband got me new tires and wipers for the car. The morning of he set up the whole car with my Ipod, GPS and books on tape. I was ready.

I got in the car at 7:00 am ready to go. I felt great. I kept telling myself I can do this. I was exactly 100 miles out when I ran over something and popped a tire. I heard a loud bang and I knew I got a flat tire. My car dash immediately flashed check tire pressure!!

I started to CRY. I couldn't help it. Anyone who knows me knows I am a crier. I call Bryan bawling and he says calm down its just a tire. I was mad cause we just bought these tires!! I call road side assistance and they tell me it will take about 1 1/2 hours. I could not just sit in my car and do nothing but wait. So, I got to work.

I started taking all the spare tire stuff out and try to change the tire. I had no idea what I was doing so I was sending pictures to Bryan. I took one of under the car to find where I should place the jack. I took on of the jack to ask how to use it. I took one of all the tools so he could show me how to use them. Bryan was telling me what to do as I was doing it.

I was in the middle of jacking the car up when a car pulled up behind me. A woman got out and said, "Let us help you." She went on to say we are not weird and my husband can do this in no time at all. I started to cry again and say thank you over and over. I was so grateful. *** I had to lie on the ground to get under the car. I got dirt stains all over my cute Juicy suit.
(Just to give you a visual) ***

As her husband was changing the tire she said they drove pass me and turned around cause they wanted to help me! I was so touched. We got to talking more and they were from Charlotte, NC!! I felt like they were angels sent from God.

They put my spare on and I drove to a tire center to get a new tire. I was back on the road. I had no other problems driving there or on the way home.

Once I was in Charlotte I was staying with my Cousin Emily and her family. It was so fun to catch up and hang out. They have a beautiful home and fun kids. Her husband went dental school and had 3 years of residency so she was sharing in my pain as a med student's wife! Charlotte was beautiful. I loved the rolling hills and all the green trees. I would sit in my work shop and think I just want to be done so I could go hang out with my cousins and explore the towns. I was sad to leave because I had such a good time.

SO, besides learning nursing skills I learned so much from this road trip. First I can drive by myself and I learned how to change a tire. Second, America has so many beautiful cities and I want to see them. Third, I have an awesome extended family and need to hang out with them more often.

*Sorry for no pictures*

Saving For A Month

The Month of April is our sacrifice month. We are saving all of our entertainment money, eating cheap meals so we save on our food budget, and we are not driving much so we save our gas budget. Sounds awful right!

BUT

WE

ARE

SAVING

FOR

DISNEY WORLD

I am going there next month with my sisters. I am so excited. But the reason why I wanted to post this because Bryan has willingly decided to save with me and be boring with me and he IS NOT going to disney with us. He has finals that week. That is true love...

As a side note.. its not hard doing nothing for a month when its for a purpose. I don't think we could be saving all month just for the heck of it.

A little trip to the middle of nowhere

Bryan's grandparents live in the middle of nowhere in California. We drove on a dirt road to get to their house. I have never been there and was excited to see them. Bryan's grandpa really influenced him and gave Bryan many traits that I adore. Bryan has not been back since high school and was just as excited as I was for the visit. I really can't explain how many crazy and cool things his grandpa has on his land so here are the pictures.

Us with Bryan's Maternal Grandparents.
This is the sign you see when you first enter. Ed Kuder is Bryan's grandpa!
Water tower on his property.
His whole house is run by solar panel. They have been there since 1980! He was way ahead of the times.

While I was out in the middle of nowhere we shot shotguns! It was my first time ever. Again, can't explain the feeling so I have to show you!

Bryan hit every single skeet!

Everyone was shocked that I got so into it!!
